Walk down the aisle
May 5, 2023
It was such a delightful and humbling experience to walk my kid sister down the aisle on her big day. Watching her radiate with joy as she stepped into this new chapter of her life was a moment forever etched in my heart. The celebration was even more profound as the Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Barr. Adrian Osuagwu, who graciously accepted my invitation to be part of this special day. His presence gave the liturgy a deep spiritual touch and, in a very moving way, made us feel the enduring presence of my late dad, whose blessings we strongly sensed throughout the day.
The solemnity of the Mass was beautifully blended with vibrant hymns, heartfelt prayers, and the exchange of vows before God and His Church. The choir sang with angelic voices, the incense filled the air with sacred reverence, and the church resounded with “Amen” as the couple sealed their covenant of love.
Beyond the altar, the joy extended into the pews. Friends, cousins, and extended family defied tight schedules and long journeys to be present, which made the day even more thrilling. Their smiles, laughter, and shared stories brought warmth and unity, reminding us that weddings in our culture are not just about two individuals, but about families and communities coming together.
Truly, walking my sister down the aisle was more than a duty—it was a gift. A reminder of love, legacy, and the beauty of togetherness.
